I just start to (try to) crunch on my recent iMac and all the tasks are failing

We all have the same problem.

The Mac apps for YoYo won't work with Mojave and later OSs because they're not 64bit.

They should/might work on Mojave if you use an older (not 64-bit clean) Boinc Client.

I don't think I will downgrade boinc just because of this but thanks a lot for the answer.

Hopefully yoyo finds some time one day to recompile this for 64 bits macOS...

Run Linux alongside the MacOS.

Running YoYo on Linux while you sleep earns more credit than you'll get from running all day on MacOS.

You can also use the iMac GPU on projects that don't have Mac GPU apps.

... if you mean "via a virtual machine" it won't allow to use the GPU + there is a loss of CPU cycles due to the software used for virtualization itself. But I've done this in the past, when I had more motivation for such techie approach

If you mean "via a dual boot" this is not in my plans + I don't even know if it can be easily done.

I have a strange testimony on our Alliance Francophone forum of another Mac user telling "no problem to run OGR on 3 different Macs under Mojave + boinc 7.16.11"... ???

I asked him to give us links of his tasks in yoyo but he didn't answer + I cannot find his profile here.

HOWEVER I think I found the explanation :

MacOS 10.14 Mojave, the version of the Mac operating system before the new macOS Catalina, is the last version that supports 32-bit software. With Catalina, only 64-bit software will be supported.

I have 10.15.7, this is Catalina, Mojave was still OK... so yoyo is 32 bits only.

Time for a move yoyo !!!

Sorry for the misinformation -- it is Catalina and newer that won't run YoYo, not Mojave as I'd claimed.

And it was dual boot that I suggested.

Linux Mint runs well on second HDs for old Mac Pros, external TB drives on 6,1 Mac Pros and iMacs and SD cards on MacBooks

Only annoyance is that I can't get the FirePro GPUs on the 6,1 MacPro recognised by BOINC because of driver issues.

Gee I had completely forgotten about this, I tried to run ECM P2 tasks (CPU) on my Mac but obviously same punishment, it seems yoyo will never recompile his apps, such a pity - and ECM P2 is yoyo's most recent app from September 2019...

I still get this problem, while the apps page indicates that 64bit is supported Mac OS 10.5+ running on an Intel 64-bit CPU. I use Catalina on that Mac
